Evangelization by definition means to “share the good news”. Our parish community is alive with Evangelizers who share the good news every single day: through what they say, what they do and how they live their lives.
As a team, we come together, in Evangelization efforts, to reach out and touch lives by presenting programs and events that educate, encourage, enrich and enable our parish community to grow and thrive in the light of Christ’s love. Through an ever broadening and growing yearly agenda of both ecclesiastical and social gatherings, we offer something for everyone: from those in our pews who seek to become more involved in their parish community of faith, to those who are seeking answers in faith and to those who are just seeking. We invite everyone to come and see who we are and what we do.
During the past several years our Evangelization outreach has grown to encompass and introduce both new and existing programs within our parish community. We have welcomed both the Eddy Village Green Ministry and the Food Pantry under our umbrella of service, as well as introducing a Welcome Ministry which seeks to extend the arms of our parish family wide open in welcome to all those new to our parish. We have embraced and shared learning opportunities and education through both our own pastor’s experiences and reflections, as well as those of celebrated Bishop Robert Barron. We brought the fall welcome weekend to life as a wonderful opportunity for our entire parish to reconnect with one another after the summer and we offer an annual breakfast with St. Nicholas to remind our young people of the saint whose footsteps Santa walks in. Mardi Gras is celebrated each year to mark our passage into the most holy season of Lent and we celebrate the stations of cross “Through the Eyes of Mary” each Lenten season. We strive for presentations and gatherings that reach across the ages.
We are open to all and welcome everyone to come and join us at a monthly meeting as we continually move forward in faith and outreach.
In October of 2012, our parish was awarded the James Seeley Memorial Award for Evangelization in our Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany. We were honored and humbled to receive recognition for the efforts and evangelizing practices that we here at Holy Trinity put forth with hope and love. We are grateful for the wonderful honor but remain ever conscious of the need to continue to push forward and bring forth programs and events that will meet the needs of our brothers and sisters.
Evangelization is what we do with every kind word, helping hand and comforting embrace.
We will continue our efforts to reach out and touch as many lives as possible. We invite you to share with your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers the dates and times of all of our programs as they are announced. Invite them to a liturgy. Give them our parish website address and tell them to check out all of our links to our events, special liturgies, celebrations and outreach programs. Invite them to come and see The Church of the Holy Trinity Parish.
